On the Rogue

Last weekend we finally got our acts together and went camping – I love to go sans tent and just sleep under the stars.

Normally, we camp up at Farewell Bend just past Union Creek but this time we stopped a bit shy of Union Creek and stayed in the Woodruf Bridge area along the Rogue. The camp ground was awesome and empty – strange for this time of year. [turns out where we stopped is a day use area but no one bothered us so we slept there anyway.. such rebels].

The trails are nice there -well maintained with only a few over grown areas where we had to karate chop our way through wild flowers and grasses. Rick caught his share of fish and had a great time. Of course, every catch he made, I threw in the old, “you are going to let it go, right?” He was pretty good about releasing them-only kept two, which he said were goners anyway since they swallowed the hook.

It was a nice relaxing time which allowed me to tackle one of my favorite subjects – blades of grass. Plus, I got to play with bubbles and a one year old. I am not sure who had more fun, her or me.
